Tritek Power & Automation are pleased to share a success story of the installation of the Furlong Unity Position Reference Sensor (PRS) System on an offshore support vessel operating in India. The vessel required enhanced maneuverability, precise positioning, and improved operational safety during critical offshore operations such as dynamic positioning, station keeping, and close-quarter maneuvers.
The existing DP Positioning reference system setup was obsolete for a while, with minimum to no spares available for maintenance or repair. The Furlong Unity on the other hand is a new laser-based position reference sensor which has made its entry into the market in the last year The client chose to opt for the Furlong Unity PRS System, given its capability to work both with prism targets and without, and that with lesser moving parts, the overall maintenance costs are relatively lower for the owners.
Executed in close collaboration with P.R.O Marine Solutions, the project leveraged combined technical expertise to deliver a seamless installation and commissioning process. The successful implementation reinforces Tritek’s reputation as a trusted provider of advanced marine dynamic positioning solutions in India.
