The first of many DP1 to DP2 conversions under the TRICON™ Dynamic Positioning System wing was the conversion of an ABS Class, 72M UT755L Platform Supply Vessel from a Kongsberg CPOS DP1 to the TRICON™ DP 2 System.
The scope included the complete design, manufacture, supply, installation and commissioning of the DP2 System.
A DP1 to DP2 conversion turnkey project such as this one required Tritek to carry out the feasibility (GAP) study to ensure the vessels systems were in compliance with the DP2 redundancy group concepts, as required by class. The report advised the clients regarding the modifications to be carried out, where shortfalls were detected.
