Advanced Marine Navigation & Communication System Installation

Vessel Characteristics:
Crew Boat

Scope of work: Marine Navigation & Communication (NavCom) Equipment Installation

VHF Class A with DSC

At Tritek, safety at sea isn’t just a standard – it’s a responsibility we take seriously.

In this project, Tritek’s NavCom specialists successfully installed and commissioned a complete marine navigation and communication system on a crew boat operating in the UAE. The objective was clear: strengthen onboard safety, ensure dependable ship-to-shore communication, and improve navigation accuracy across some of the region’s busiest marine routes.

From initial equipment supply through to final testing and compliance verification, the project covered full integration of advanced navigation and communication systems designed to meet international maritime safety standards, while supporting real-time vessel positioning and seamless communication at sea.

As the authorised Marinelite dealer in the UAE,  Tritek supplied fully certified equipment, delivered expert installation, and completed the project on a fast turnaround – even within a tight operational schedule.

Installed Marine Navigation & Communication Systems:

The vessel was equipped with a full suite of high-performance navigation, communication, and safety systems, including:

AIS SAG-9000 Class A (Marinelite) – Advanced Automatic Identification System (AIS) for real-time vessel tracking and identification.

GPS GP-9000 (Marinelite) – High-accuracy GPS positioning for reliable, real-time navigation.

VHF-9000 Class A with DSC (Marinelite) – Secure marine VHF communication with Digital Selective Calling (DSC) for enhanced distress and safety signalling.

CETC AIS EPIRB VEP8A – Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) for reliable distress alerting in emergency situations.

OVA AIS SART – Search and Rescue Transponder (SART) to support rapid emergency response and location identification.

Key Challenges:

Delivering this project required overcoming several operational and technical challenges:

  • Seamless integration with existing onboard navigation systems
  • Compliance with IMO and SOLAS maritime safety regulations
  • Completing installation within a limited timeframe
  • Ensuring strong signal performance in high-traffic marine environments

Technical Highlights:

Our team implemented several optimizations to ensure maximum system performance:

  • Installation and commissioning of a Class A AIS system (SAG-9000)
  • Full integration between AIS, GPS, VHF, and emergency systems
  • Complete system testing, calibration, and compliance verification

Results & Impact:

The upgraded marine navigation and communication system delivered a measurable improvement in vessel safety and situational awareness, supported by more accurate real-time positioning for reliable navigation. The installation also enhanced both onboard and external communication reliability, and ensured full compliance with international maritime safety regulations, including IMO and SOLAS standards.

Whether you need an AIS installation, bridge system upgrade, or a complete marine communication solution, Tritek delivers certified, compliant, and reliable NavCom systems across the UAE.
